Coming Attractions: The Liberation of Maya Jane Clark
HOW DO YOU EVER HEAL FROM ABUSE?
This is the true story written by an abuse survivor. She’s ready to share her story with others to help transform their world for the better. We are standing by her side, holding her hand and changing the world with three components in mind: Confidence. Patience. Truth.
At Safe In Harm’s Way we know that relationships begin with love. Roses. Poetry. Dancing.
Slowly, over time, the abuser intentionally begins to create a relationship filled with sadness, worry, lies, fear and pain. It’s so slow, that people don’t even realize the abuse is becoming “normal.” Survivors are only trying to stop the madness, and get back to the beginning, when it was a beautiful love. Maya’s journey will reflect the evolution, and maybe….just maybe you will see yourself in her journey. It could be immediate. It could take weeks, or you may never leave. However, at least you won’t be alone in your journey anymore. Our hope is by knowing Maya’s story you feel less shame in your own.
We will walk together through Maya Jane Clark’s liberation from the very first second of connecting and falling in love, through the aftermath of leaving what became an extremely abusive relationship. How did she ever remain safe when she was constantly in harm’s way? We will walk that road with her in each horrific and joyful step. (Yes, there is joy and laughter and skipping and wonderful discoveries.)
Once she chooses to leave her abuser, how does she remain safe? His history, deviant actions, and lies place her in harm’s way. How does she learn to have a life filled with honest love, spectacular people, incredible food, fun and travel? (We call that form of healing building a #platinumplatterlife.) There are actions, lists, and protocols that other women can use if they want to escape an abusive relationship. Safe In Harm’s Way will provide it all.
Within the answers to the above questions, we will create the ever-expanding web of goodness that helps to change the world. Take our hand and join us. Life is so much better in the “after” of abuse.
NOW LET’S TALK A BIT ABOUT YOU.
This is Maya’s story, and she is a white, English-speaking female. We also know men, people of color, people who identify in the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants and people who have English as a second language all experience abuse, too. We are looking for those stories to highlight, too. Please contact us at: Info@safeinharmsway.org. We would be honored for you to share your story as yourself or anonymously. Safe In Harm’s Way never wants you to feel alone.
We are here.

Also, does this sound like you:
- If you’re someone who has a relationship with a ton of apologies and zero change
- If you’re in a relationship which makes you feel sadness, worry, lies (“Gosh, I wonder if they’re lying to me?”), fear or pain
- If you’re covered in bruises or crying for the 120,699,802 time
- If you have left the relationship seven times, and want to go for number 8
